According to the Low Voltage Installation Ordinance of November 7, 2001, the owner of an electrical installation is responsible for the safety of his installations. The owner is obliged to have them checked periodically. This inspection must be carried out by an independent inspection body, i.e. a company that was not involved in the planning, implementation or construction.

What is inspected? The inspection covers all installations in a building from the fuse box to the last socket, light or consumer. The inspection is carried out in accordance with the applicable legal regulations and standards (NIV, NIN, WV). If there are any defects, they must be rectified by a licensed electrician within the specified period.

Depending on the object and the type of use, the period is fixed from 1-20 years. The purpose of the inspection is to minimize the risk of accidents. Hidden defects, defective materials, dangerous installations, etc. are found and repaired, so that a proper operation of the electrical installations can be guaranteed. In the residential properties an inspection is due every 20 years.

Procedure of a periodic electrical inspection EVU (Electricity Supply Company) reminds owners for the periodic inspection (6 months before the deadline).

After the inspection: No defects You will immediately receive the safety certificate and then you only have to keep it in a safe place.

A copy is automatically forwarded to the utility company.

After the inspection: With defects The list of defects is neatly listed and forwarded to you with a deadline for rectification of approx. one month.

You are then responsible for ensuring that the defects are rectified. It is best to request a quote from us right away. Once the defects have been rectified, you will automatically receive the safety certificate and will not need to do anything more.

Remarks If the deadlines are not met by the RU, this can result in a heavy fine.
