Periodic electrical inspection All electrical installations must be checked periodically. The owners receive a request from their network operator (EW) to submit a safety certificate (Sina). The owner is now obliged to have a periodic electrical inspection carried out by an independent inspection body within the period granted and to submit the corresponding proof of safety (Sina).

Acceptance inspection If electrical installations in properties with a control period of less than 20 years or photovoltaic systems are newly installed, modified or extended, they must be inspected by an independent inspection body after the final inspection by the electrical installer.

Final inspections Before newly installed, modified or extended electrical installations are handed over to the owner by the electrical installer, the latter carries out a final inspection and issues the safety certificate (Sina). Many electricians outsource these final inspections to an independent inspection body for their own quality assurance.

Change of ownership If properties with a control period of 10 or 20 years are sold or given away, i.e. there is a change of ownership, a periodic electrical inspection must be carried out if more than 5 years have elapsed since the last inspection.
