What is a self-consumption community?

An EVG is a legal association of several parties (owners, condominium owners and/or tenants) in one or more buildings that jointly consume solar electricity. This solar electricity must be produced on the same or an adjacent site. The EVG shares a single connection to the public grid, from which it draws additional electricity or into which it feeds surplus solar electricity.
This results in the site or building owner becoming the electricity supplier to its tenants / end users. The building management is thus responsible for the management and billing within the TOE. Important: The electricity tariffs at which the tenants / end users purchase the solar electricity in the TOE must not exceed the tariff of the public grid.

Which requirements must be met for a foundation?

• For the foundation of an EVG, the solar power production and all solar power end users must be connected to a single grid connection.
• There must be consent from each tenant / end user.
• The framework agreement for the TOE must be signed by each party.
