Since 2002, the system owner or house owner is responsible for the safe operation of the electrical installations and must have them checked periodically.

The inspection must be carried out by an independent inspection service provider, i.e. only by a company that has not installed, modified or repaired the installations. After completion of the inspection, this company will issue the legally required safety certificate (SiNa), which confirms the safe functioning of your electrical installations. With this procedure, you fully comply with the statutory inspection obligation.

In the case of existing buildings, apartments or properties, the inspections must be carried out every 5, 10 or 20 years depending on the danger level of the installation. For new buildings or conversions, you need an acceptance inspection after completion. And in the case of changes of ownership, an extraordinary inspection is required if there has been no follow-up inspection five years before the change of ownership.

Electrical installations in a new building or after a conversion must be checked by a specialist during a final inspection before being handed over to the owner. As with the periodic inspection, the electrical inspector prepares the corresponding safety certificate.
